Onion Bulb Structures in Digital Pacinian Neuroma

Small painful nodule on the fingers of middle-aged adults.

The lesion is composed of abnormal aggregates of morphologically mature Pacinian corpuscles (onion-bulb structures) and intervening small nerves set in a fibrous backround.

This lesion should be distinguished from other neural lesions containing pseudo-onion bulb structures which are not true well formed Pacinian corpuscles.
